Is your crush on Westley or Cary Elwes?

There are a lot of movie characters I would do anything to spend the night with....but I know full well, it's not the character. It's hard, for example, for me to know exactly how hot Princess Buttercup 'really' is...

I'm trying to think if I have ever fallen in love with a character from a novel...in a romantic sense. I don't think I have.

I only know Cary Elwes in the context of Westley, and I doubt in his day-to-day life he'd have much occasion for wielding a sword, so it must be Westley I have the crush on, or some conglomeration of the two--Cary-Elwes-as-Westley.

Movies? It would be Princess Leia in Star Wars...Susan Sarandon in anything except Thelma & Louise...Live Tyler in Plunket & McClane. All beautifully tough/toughly beautiful women. But the love of my life is....Betty Paige in her earliest pin-ups. That raven-wing dark page-boy...those blue/green eyes, and that smile that followed you everywhere. (sigh)

Most intelligent, gifted, insightful, and magical Eshtine...Westly???????????????????????? Goody goody barely there moustache Westly? As in 'Good night Westly, I'll likely kill you in the morning' Westly? I must be missing something. Please, explain..........By the way, Buttercup was a gutless manipulative shallow pretty face. OK. So I'm bitter. Oh...hold on...another character I fell in love with...Morgan La Fey in Excalibur.

Yegads. I have only ever been in love with fictional characters----and consequently, all my crushes are the same.

Just stumbled on this site looking for info about Cary Elwes and yes, I too am in love with Westley! Although I do kind of associate him with Cary Elwes. I guess now I finally understood what "eyes like the sea before a storm" means.
