My Fan Year continues. You can read the weekly installments here. Yes, I managed to sneak in a Marc Connors'n'The Nylons reference in column number 12. Number 5 is how I would've inducted U2 in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame if they hadn't picked Bruce Springsteen instead. I like how number 11 turned out.
PlaybackSTL continues to be a magazine that looks more and more beautiful with every issue. I spend quite a lot of time working there.
In a couple of weeks I'll be here. I think it looks a bit different now.
And here is KDHX, where I'm helping out on Lotsa A Cappella on Sunday mornings, 8 to 10 am central standard time. They are in their pledge drive. If you call them up and pledge on that show (314-664-3688) I will love you even more than I do already.

Just read your piece on One Tree Hill & had to comment on the excellent story. I've always found that song very moving & think it's one of their greatest songs. Like many of their great songs its both worldly and personal, bitter yet joyful. Flat out some of Bono's best lyrics ever.
I also have an immeadiate association to that line: "I'll see you again, When the stars fall from the sky,". I always think of my grandfather for some reason, he died a few months after I got The Joshua Tree..however I didn't make that association with the song until a year after that when I visited New Zealand and saw One Tree Hill & naturally thought of the song and then that assocation began with my grandfather and that line.
Anyways enjoy reading your articles for atu2.

I've been trying for awhile to get in touch with you guys at @U2.com to say if there is ever anything I could do I'd be up for being involved...it is a fanastic site. There is a new updated Walk On coming and I toyed with changing the chapter order just for you BUT I had reason for that order (the journey of their social justice stuff) and I decided to keep it as was... you had a point though... and yes you guys could have and probably should have written that book... I am always amazed at the grace lavished on me and mostly feel I was inadequate at using my responsibility... anyway if there is ever anything...
